While all guests are welcome and we aim to cater for all your needs, the door widths and stairs in this property, unfortunately make Bramlies B&B unsuitable for those who are wholly dependent on wheelchairs for mobility. ARRIVAL AND CAR PARKING FACILITIES
There are regular bus services with stops within 5 minutes’ walk of Bramlies. There are train stations at Dorchester South (Waterloo - Weymouth line) and Dorchester West (Bristol - Weymouth line). The stations are both approximately 10 – 15 minutes’ walk away from Bramlies. We can provide the phone numbers of local taxi firms on request.
Off road car parking is available directly in front of the house and the parking area is constituted from pea gravel and lies on a very gentle slope. From the parking area, there is a short walk to the outside rooms (approximately 20 metres). The ground is level and constitutes paving slabs/concrete. Please take care after dark. There are outside lights on automatic sensors and we can also provide torches for guests' use.
We are always happy to help guests with their luggage.
MAIN ENTRANCE & RECEPTION
The front entrance is 775mm (30.5”) wide, with a small threshold step which is 75mm (3”) high. The entrance hall and reception area is well lit and the flooring is of wood laminate.
PUBLIC AREAS - GENERAL
The ground floor is level throughout, giving easy access between the entrance hall and the breakfast room. The upstairs bedrooms are up a flight of 15 steps which are carpeted and have a handrail on both sides. All rooms and the landing area are well lit.
PUBLIC AREAS - WC
All our guest rooms have en-suite facilities on the same level as the bedrooms. All our guest rooms have free tea and coffee making facilities. Free WIFI is available throughout the property and guests are welcome to use the breakfast/lounge area at any time.
LOUNGE AND BREAKFAST ROOM
The dining room serves as the breakfast room and is available as a guest lounge. It is directly accessible from the entrance hall and is on the same level.
There are large patio doors (entrance width 104cm/41”) leading to an outside decked area with seating for guest use.
Menus are available in large print on request.
We have three guest bedrooms, two on the ground floor in an annexe outside of the property and one on the first floor of the main house.
The Garden Suite
The Garden Suite is a double en-suite room, with separate lounge area set outside to the rear of the main house in the garden, which will cater for up to four people. Access is via a level walkway approximately 22 metres from the car parking area at the front of the house. The walkway is 1m (39”) wide at the narrowest point. Access is via a UPVC doorway which is 770mm (30”) wide, there is a small step up into the room which is 50mm (2”) high. The en-suite shower cubicle measures 700mm x 700mm. The bedroom, lounge and en-suite are on same level flooring compromising short pile carpet in the lounge and bedroom, and vinyl flooring in the en-suite. The room is well lit and has ceiling/wall lighting and there is a range of storage at various heights. There is a dressing table, stool, double sofa bed, flat screen TV (Freeview) with remote control and free WIFI access.
The Lily Pad (en-suite)
The Lily Pad is a twin/double (superking) bed en-suite room set outside to the rear of the main house in the garden. Access is via a level walkway approximately 20 metres from the car parking area at the front of the house. The walkway is 1m (39”) wide at the narrowest point.
Access is via a UPVC doorway which is 770mm (30”) wide, there are two small steps up into the room which together are 200mm (8”) high.
There is an en-suite shower/WC. The shower cubicle measures 1200mm x 750mm. The bedroom and en-suite are on same level flooring comprising short pile carpet in the bedroom and vinyl flooring in the en-suite. The room is well lit and has ceiling/bedside/wall lighting and there is a range of storage at various heights. There is a dressing table, two chairs and flat screen TV (Freeview) with remote control and free WIFI access.
The Green Room (single en-suite)
The Green Room is in the house on the first floor, up a flight of 15 steps. The height of each step is 180mm (7”). The stairs have a handrail on both sides. The Green Room, which has a 720mm (28”) doorway, can be arranged as a single or twin room. There is an en-suite shower/WC. The shower cubicle measures 1000mm x 700mm and the bedroom and bathroom are level with vinyl flooring throughout, with a floor rug in the bedroom.
The bedroom is well lit and has ceiling/bedside lighting and there is a range of storage at various heights. There is a dressing table, stool, chair, flat screen TV (Freeview) with remote control and free WIFI access.
Guests are welcome to use our washing machine and drying facilities for a small fee. Ironing board and iron are available on request.
GROUNDS AND GARDENS
Bramlies has a garden and wooden decking area which guests are welcome to use. It is mainly flat and has a number of seating areas. There are two steps to the decking area with each step measuring 175mm (7”) in height.
We can cater for most dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, gluten or dairy-free) please let us know in advance of your stay. We are happy to provide any of our information in large-print format. Bramlies is a non-smoking B&B, however, smoking is permitted in the garden. Bramlies has an audible interlinked fire/smoke-alarm system. If you have particular needs in the event of an emergency, please let us know when you arrive. Guests are welcome to store small items of food/medication in our fridge or freezer by arrangement. There is also a fridge in the annexe for guest use by prior arrangement.
We are located just 5 minutes’ walk from the local hospital and A&E Department should the need for it arise.
